The Office of Capital Planning coordinates with each of the institutions in developing and presenting annual USM capital budgets, as well as facilities renewal projects and related matters, to the appropriate bodies, including the Regents, the Department of Budget and Management, MHEC, the Department of General Services, the Department of Fiscal Services and the General Assembly. The Office coordinates with each institution in the preparation of its required facilities master plan and in defining and representing information on priorities for capital projects. Further, the Office is the System's primary point of contact on broad issues related to facilities and the operation of the physical plant at each institution.
